⚠ Cutting Through the Bro Science · Reta Split-Dose Math
Splitting Reta doesn't change
your weight loss.
It only changes the size of your peaks. With a 6-day half-life, the drug lives in your system. The math doesn't lie.
Step 1 · Your setup
Vial size
30 mg Retatrutide
On an insulin syringe: 100 units = 1 mL. So 50 units = 0.5 mL × 10 mg/mL = 5 mg per pin. Total weekly dose: 5 mg.
Step 2 · Same 5 mg/week, different schedule
Schedule
Each pin
mg / pin

Step 3 · Steady-state blood level math
Half-life = 6 days. Decay = 0.5^(interval/6).
1× / Week · 50 Units
9.0 mg-eq
Peak (just dosed)9.0
Trough (day 7)4.0
Average level6.5
Peak/trough swing2.24×
2× / Week · 25 Units
7.5 mg-eq
Peak (just dosed)7.5
Trough (3.5d)5.0
Average level6.25
Peak/trough swing1.50×
3× / Week · 17 Units
7.1 mg-eq
Peak (just dosed)7.1
Trough (2.3d)5.4

Peak/trough swing1.31×
What actually changes
✓ Splitting changes:
- Peak drops 17% on 2×/wk (9.0 → 7.5)
- Peak drops 22% on 3×/wk (9.0 → 7.1)
- Trough rises 25–35% (4.0 → 5.0/5.4)
- Curve is smoother — fewer wild swings
✗ Splitting does NOT change:
- Average drug level (6.25 vs 6.5 mg-eq — basically identical)
- AUC / total exposure — identical
- Weight loss efficacy — driven by AUC, not peaks
- Time to steady state — ~28 days regardless
- Total cost / mg used — same
The practical take for you
Your 50-unit weekly = 2.24× swing between peak and trough.
If you're getting:
- 🤢
Day 1–2 nausea spikes → splitting will help (lower Cmax)
- 😴
Day 6–7 hunger creep back → splitting will help (higher trough)
- 😎
Tolerating fine and losing weight → no reason to split. Same result.
⚖ Bottom Line
Splitting Reta is a side-effect strategy.
Not a magic-bullet strategy.
